VMware Tools sind Applikationen und Treiber, mit denen die Gast-Betriebssysteme in einer virtuellen Maschine unter VMware zusätzliche Funktionalitäten erhalten. Ein lokaler Angreifer kann eine Schwachstelle in VMware Tools ausnutzen, um Dateien zu manipulieren.
