What it is about

Under what conditions?

Over the network and without logging in. This is the most dangerous combination: attackers can scan reachable devices automatically.

What can happen in the worst case

An attacker could use the vulnerability to

  • einen Denial-of-Service-Zustand herbeizuführen
  • möglicherweise Daten zu manipulieren oder Path-Traversal-Angriffe durchzuführen

Am I affected?

Affected according to the BSI:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Fedora Linux
  • SUSE openSUSE
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Hardened Images RPMs
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 Multicluster Engine for Kubernetes 2.8.6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Multicluster Global Hub <1.5.4
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise <10.4.1
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise <10.2.5
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise <10.0.8
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise <9.4.13

The installed version is usually shown under “Help → About” or in the device’s admin interface.

What helps?

Update to at least:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Multicluster Global Hub 1.5.4
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise 10.4.1
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise 10.2.5
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise 10.0.8
  • Splunk Splunk Enterprise 9.4.13

Is the vulnerability already being exploited?

None of the CVEs is in the CISA catalogue of exploited vulnerabilities. That does not mean there are no attacks, only that none are documented.
