Toolbox

Secure presentation elements and more — free of charge

I use these tools myself in talks and training sessions. They are free, need no account and are ready in under a minute. Each one explains below what it is good for and how to use it.

Three things you should know

  • No sign-up. You create a tool and get your addresses straight away.
  • Only via the link. There is no list of your sessions. Save the address, or you will not find the session again.
  • Stored for a limited time. Interactive elements are deleted after 60 days, a secure transfer after 14 days at the latest — usually much sooner.

Word cloud

One word per person, shown live as a cloud.

For opening a topic or running a quick poll. You ask an open question, everyone answers with one word, and whatever comes up more often grows bigger. It breaks the ice and shows in seconds what the room is thinking.

How to use it

  1. Enter a question, for example: What is the first thing you think of when you hear cyber security?
  2. Put the display address on the screen; it shows a QR code.
  3. The audience scans and types a word. The cloud grows on its own.
  4. Use “Reset” to start the same question again at your next talk.

Quiz question

One question, several answers, revealed at the push of a button.

To test a claim before you explain it. The audience votes, you see the distribution and only then reveal the answer. People who committed to an answer listen more closely to the explanation.

How to use it

  1. Enter a question and two to six answers, and tick the correct ones.
  2. Display address on the screen, the audience scans and votes.
  3. The distribution appears immediately, the correct answer only after “Reveal”.
  4. Several correct answers are allowed.

Rating on a scale

Agreement from 1 to 5, shown live as bars with the average.

For self-assessments and gauging the mood. Especially powerful at the start and at the end: asking the same question twice shows in black and white what the talk achieved.

How to use it

  1. Enter a statement, for example: I reliably recognise a phishing email.
  2. Adjust the labels at both ends; the defaults are “does not apply” and “fully applies”.
  3. The audience taps a number from 1 to 5. You see the distribution and the average.
  4. For a before-and-after comparison, create two sessions with the same statement.

Estimation question

Estimate a number, then reveal the actual value.

To make a number land instead of just stating it. The audience estimates first, then the actual value appears. The gap between estimate and reality sticks; the number alone does not.

How to use it

  1. Enter the question, the unit and the actual value.
  2. The audience types in their estimate. You see the range and the group average.
  3. The actual value only appears after “Reveal”, together with the deviation.
  4. The actual value cannot be retrieved before it is revealed, not even by indirect means.

Question collector

The audience asks questions, others upvote them.

The cure for the silence after “Any questions?”. People who would never raise a hand still type. Others upvote the question, and you answer from the top down — what most people want to know.

How to use it

  1. Enter a heading, for example: Your questions about the talk.
  2. Show the address at the start and leave it up throughout the talk.
  3. Questions appear immediately, sorted by votes.
  4. You tick off answered questions on the display.

Transfer

Secure transfer

Send a file and message once, then it is deleted.

For anything that does not belong in an email: a password, an access file, a document containing personal data. You store it and get a link. The recipient opens it exactly once, then the transfer is gone. Emails, by contrast, sit in mailboxes and backups for years.

How to use it

  1. Type a text, choose a file — or both together in one transfer.
  2. Choose a deadline: up to 14 days, after which the transfer deletes itself.
  3. Send the link shown to the recipient — ideally through a different channel than the data itself.
  4. The transfer is deleted when it is first opened. A second attempt only shows that it existed.

Self-test

What does this website know about me?

Shows what your browser reveals to every site without being asked.

The best wake-up call to open an awareness training. The page reads out what any website learns about its visitors — no login, no consent, without anyone clicking anything: device, screen, time zone, language, battery level, fonts, graphics card. Together this forms a fingerprint that identifies you, even without cookies. Anyone who has seen it once understands “tracking” without further explanation.

How to use it

  1. Open the page — the analysis runs immediately, no button needed.
  2. Put it on the screen during your talk: each item explains in one sentence what it reveals.
  3. Have participants open the same page on their own phones — the values differ and the aha moment is bigger.
  4. None of this is stored or sent. The analysis runs in your browser and is gone once you close the window.

Self-check

NIS2 quick check

Five questions, instant assessment: does NIS2 apply to you?

For anyone who wants to know whether the NIS2 Directive affects their business and which training obligations follow from it. The check asks about size, sector, supply chain, handling of personal data and your current level of awareness, and shows a traffic light with reasons. Even if you are not directly affected, you see what still reaches you via customers and the GDPR.

How to use it

  1. Open the page and click through the five questions in order.
  2. The result appears instantly, with a traffic light and the obligations that apply to you.
  3. Nothing is stored or transmitted; everything runs in your browser.
  4. The assessment is for guidance only and is not legal advice.

Why I give this away

I run awareness training sessions myself and know how quickly a talk falls flat when nobody joins in. These tools cost me little and help you straight away. If you then want to know what complete phishing training for your team looks like, the prices are published openly.

Set up in an hour, trained in a week.

Create a free account, add your team, unlock the course. You only pay when you start. Would you rather see what a test email looks like first? The self-test is free.
